I am sure you all know that IQ stands for Intelligence Quotient.
Supposedly, it is a score that tells one how “bright” a person is compared to other people.

The average IQ is by definition 100; scores above 100 indicate a higher than average IQ and scores below 100 indicate a lower that average IQ. Theoretically, scores can range any amount below or above 100, but in practice they do not meaningfully go much below 50 or above 150.
Half of the population have IQ’s of between 90 and 110, while 25% have higher IQ’s and 25% have lower IQ’s:

Apparently, the IQ gives a good indication of the occupational group that a person will end up in, though not of course the specific occupation. In their book, Know Your Child’s IQ, Glen Wilson and Diana Grylls outline occupations typical of various IQ levels:

130	Physicians and Surgeons; Lawyers; Engineers (Civil and Mechanical)
120	School Teachers; Pharmacists; Accountants; Nurses; Stenographers; Managers.

USE A PART OF MONTHLY EXPENSES TO CREATE A PLAN "B" INCOME STREAM

Do I need a Plan "B" income stream?

• If I am well qualified, in a highly paid job, am a high performer?
  

OR

• If I am just above average and in a reasonable job, able to pay my bills?

OR

• If I am working more that one job to make ends meet?

OR

• If I am a Professional in Private Practice; a Tradesman with my own business; an Artist or Musician performing gigs locally/internationally?
  

Well the answer depends of my Freeflow and Overflow factor.

• Answer A - If my Freeflow Factor is already at 50% or less AND my Overflow Factor is at 100% or more then I am already truly Free and genuinely Financially Independent. I already have additional income streams and it is OPTIONAL whether or not I want to look at even more "plan B" income streams.

It evaluates my level of dependency on my income from my Job, Profession or Vocation [called $Job for short] versus my TOTAL Monthly Income [$Job + $PI for short]. $Job applies to Employees, Professionals in Private Practice, Tradesmen and Artists/Musicians alike. The Freeflow Factor is a MONTHLY percentage measurement. It helps me measure and appreciate the rate at which I am creating my additional income (cash inflows) from Dividends from shares in companies, interest from savings/investment accounts, Rental from Investment Properties, Surplus Cash Inflows from Businesses owned [Passive income or $PI for short].
  



• At 100% Freeflow I am 100% exposed and at the highest level of Risk. Whereas at 50% Freeflow my financial exposure to a job loss is virtually 0%.

• The MONTHLY calculation I do is $Job divided by [$Job+$PI] multiplied by 100 equals my Freeflow Factor as a percentage.
  
• Example $4,500 divided by [$4,500+$500] multiplied by 100 means that my Freeflow factor is 90%.


• So I need some more income stream to create more $PI to reduce this Freeflow Factor to 50% or LESS.


• Opportunities for "plan B" income streams are therefore still very relevant to me.

WHAT ABOUT THE OVERFLOW FACTOR

• Overflow is a LIFESTYLE MANAGEMENT factor that I AIM to MAXIMISE. It evaluates my level of FREEDOM IN MAINTAINING MY LIFESTYLE, and paying my Monthly Expenses [$Expenses]. The Overflow Factor is a MONTHLY percentage measurement of my [$PI] versus my [$Expenses] .
• At 0% Overflow I have no true freedom. Whereas at 100% Overflow or more I am truly in the OVERFLOW and genuinely Financially Independent.
  
• The MONTHLY calculation I do is [$PI] divided by [$Expenses] multiplied by 100 equals my Overflow Factor as a percentage.


• Example $500 divided by $4,167 multiplied by 100 means that my Overflow factor is 12%.


• So I need some more income stream to create more [$PI] to increase this Overflow Factor to 100% or MORE.


• Opportunities for "plan B" income streams are therefore still very relevant to me.

OK SO HOW DO I CREATE [$PI]

• Excellent financial advisers guide us to plan our lives so that we have some SURPLUS CASHFLOW each month which we can then direct towards investments that match our outcome targets and risk profile.


• This is excellent advice and guidance.


• The challenge is, however, where is that SURPLUS CASHFLOW to come from?


• [$Expenses] seem to be already EATING IT ALL!!!

Gazing From My Balcony - Thinking of My Dad

Today I got a Facebook note from a work colleague about the death of his Dad. I left him the following note:-

"What is your Dad's legacy that lives on in your heart? How has he been positively influential in your life and in the life of all those with whom he made contact? The date and time of his death, as challenging and painful as it may be is but one moment in this journey of life. However, the life-time of experiences you shared with him live on in your heart.
Think, write & speak on these things; grow from strength to strength; and watch how his legacy continues to enrich your life and evolve into a legacy all your own.

May LOVE, JOY and PEACE fill you and overflow into all who enter your sphere of influence."



AND THEN it got me thinking about my Dad. Three words immediately come to mind STRENGTH, INTEGRITY, COMMITMENT.

Dad is not a hugger nor has he said the words "Son ... I love you" yet there is not a shadow of doubt this and more is real and true.

Through his actions and life example I know for sure that his love, care and concern for his two boys is real and true.

His strength of character and unfailing integrity gives me a special sense of pride when I tell people "My Dad is the Retired - Accountant General of Jamaica".

It is a joy to watch how easily he transitioned into the dual role, post retirement, of Farmer and Accountant for the Floral Business owned by mom. Its challenging to believe that the business will soon be celebrating 21 years.

When I look at his 50 years of commitment to mom, his wife, his soul mate and the way he looks at and speaks of her it is clear for all to see this is no spark of love but a RAGING FIRE.


Yes Dad I know for sure your love is real and true, and I want you to know right now in life that for me your legacy is STRENGTH, INTEGRITY and COMMITMENT.

I would be satisfied being half the man that you have been for me and our family, yet I smile because I can hear you saying "Paul aim for excellence .... 50% isn't the passing grade, it will never do"

Thank you Dad ....... I want to be for my wife and two girls what you have been and continue to be for me a REAL JAMAICAN MAN of STRENGTH, INTEGRITY and COMMITMENT

Mentoring to experience FREEFLOW and OVERFLOW

Freeflow and Overflow are two items I would encourage anyone to include on the top of their daily "THINGS TO DO" LIST. Then keep moving them to the top of the list for each new day. This way they will constantly be infront of you as you shift towards actually developing these new habits of FREEFLOW and OVERFLOW as part of your daily routine.

I am sure that many want to experience life more abundantly. As I am equally sure that the intensity of keeping pace on the threadmill of life leaves many with limited available energy/time for much else.

Freeflow and Overflow can be a way to start rebuilding your personal freedom.

How many do you know who would actually choose to press the pause button on their current threadmill of life so as to step on to a new pathway of renewed energy and personal freedom?
Would such persons be willing to create the time to make new "time investments" in themselves, if they had a mentor they knew to help them to learn then slowly but surely develop momentum towards actually experiencing personal freedom while also taking care of the existing demands of life?

If you know anyone like that, do you care enough about them to learn a system yourself and be a mentor even while you are learning. A very effective way of shifting our personal energy, assimilating new information and experiencing a sense of fulfillment is by learning and mentoring others in lifechanging systems that work.
